MSc in agro-economics with a specialization in agricultural development from the Institut d’Etudes du Développement Economique et Social (IEDES), Paris, France.

Expertise:

Rural economic development, agricultural trade and marketing support, structuring and planning support for professional organizations, management information systems, project formulation and evaluation, etc.

Profile:

Sylvain Dardel joined ICRA in September 2013. He is in charge of strengthening capacities in agricultural trade and marketing within the 2SCALE project, and of institutional networking with stakeholders based in Montpellier: CIRAD, Montpellier SupAgro/IRC, Agreenium, CGIAR, etc.

About:

Sylvain worked in various rural development projects, as technical assistant and freelance consultant in Africa, with long term stays in Ivory Coast (1988-1991), Sao Tomé e Principé (1996-1997), Niger (1999-2005), Burundi (2005-2008), Burkina Faso (2009-2012), and in France at the Centre Interprofessionnel des Fruits et Légumes (CTIFL) where he was in charge of the settlement of wholesaling firms’ economic observatory (1991-1996). Short term consultancies took him to Niger, Guinea Conakry, Rwanda, DRCongo, Burundi.
Sylvain was employed by multilateral organisations (World Bank, EU, IFAD, UNIDO, ADB), bilateral co-operation (Denmark, France, Germany, Switzerland, USA, Netherlands), and NGO, etc.
