Julia has 30 years of experience in sub-Saharan Africa and South and Central Asia in research, capacity development, strategic planning, managing for results advocacy and governance. She has a focus on agriculture, value chain analysis and development and facilitation of multi-stakeholder process.
Julia's specific expertise is in strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation (particularly in capacity development), institutional / organisational development, advocacy strategy design and training, and facilitation of multi-stakeholder processes.
Julia joined ICRA early 2013. For ICRA, she is involved in the PAEPARD platform and in the Institutionalising of IAR4D in the countries of the West Africa Agricultural Productivity Program.
She has also been involved in training activities within NARO-NAADS in Uganda, within CORAF, Senegal, and in capacity strengthening for innovation in FARA.
From 2006 to 2011, she was the Senior Regional Strategy Advisor for SNV - Netherlands Development Organisation, with responsibility to coordinate a corporate wide strategic framework in agriculture and food security. Since 2012 she is working as a freelance consultant.
