Ms Kanouté has an MSc in Biologie, specialisation Ranch Management, from South Dakota State Universitu, USA (1988)
Assetou Kanouté has over 18 years of experience in higher education and over 20 years experience in the world of NGOs on sustainable rural development (training of trainers of agricultural field workers, trainers and professional consultants).
She is an experienced facilitator in the process of multi-stakeholder partnerships and links between Farmers (OP), services (non) governmental, private sector and research (IAR4D) and a trainer/consultant in organizational strengthening of producers, development organizations and NGOs.
Since 2014, Assetou Kanouté is involved in the ICRA-led NICHE project at the University of Ségou, that aims at strengthening professional training capacity.
Assetou Kanouté is director of at IPR/IFRA (Institut polytechnique rural deformation et de recherche appliquée) Katibougou, Mali, and lecturer-researcher. She is also the national coordinator of the activities of PROFEIS (Promoting Farmer Experimentation and Innovation in the Sahel) in Mali since 2007. From February 2015, Ms Assétou Kanouté was named Special Advisor to Ms Assétou Migan, the Malian Minister for Scientific Research.
She is a board member of IFDC since 2009 and has been in a board member of several other organisations and projects in the recent past.
